12:00am EST - It’s that time again — the update drops today and brings a ton of quality of life, nerfs, buffs, improvements, fixes, and splash fresh content.

The update and forced wipe is expected at normal time, 2pm EST (7pm BST). Our update stream goes live at 1pm EST. Follow @Rustafied for news throughout the week.


New Silencers

Some changes to suppressors are hitting with today’s update. Two new craftable silencers are being introduced: the soda can silencer, which has very low durability (roughly 12 AK shots), and the oil filter silencer, which lasts a bit longer (around 48 shots). Both work just like the standard silencer, but with much shorter lifespans to balance things out.

The regular silencer is no longer craftable, and these new ones are now appearing in loot. Numbers may still shift a bit, but this should shake up how suppressors are used going forward.

Targeting Attachment

A new Targeting Attachment is going live also. This internal weapon mod gives players the ability to ping locations for their team while holding the weapon it's attached to. Simple but super handy for coordinating fights, marking targets, or calling out loot without needing to fumble with voice or map markers. It can be used on these guns: Custom SMG, Handmade SMG, M39 Rifle, M92 Pistol, SKS, Semi-Automatic Pistol, Semi-Automatic Rifle, AK, and Thompson.

Bee Catapult Bomb  

The Bee Catapult Bomb is buzzing its way into the game today. This new catapult-exclusive projectile unleashes multiple bee swarms on impact (around three per shot), making for a nasty addition to any raid or base defense. You’ll need 3 bee grenades and 200 wood to craft one, and it’s unlocked at Workbench Level 2. Load it up, fire away, and let the bees do the rest.

Floor and Ceiling Wallpapers  

Floor and ceiling wallpapers are officially coming in today too! This new system gives players a whole new way to deck out their bases with a huge variety of decorative options. You’ve got around 20 different flooring styles to pick from, including carpet, parquet, tiles, and tatami, along with about 9 ceiling designs like wood beams, plasterboard, and subway tile.

These wallpapers can only be placed in enclosed rooms, but even triangle foundations are supported now, complete with rotation options to help line up those patterns just right. There have also been a bunch of fixes and tweaks to wallpaper placement and spraycan functionality to make the whole system feel smooth and polished. This feature is launching as a separate DLC today, with some basic floor and ceiling styles included for free for everyone. Whether you want to go full cozy cabin, sleek modern, or something totally off-the-wall, you’ve now got the tools to make your base feel a little more like home.


Quality of Life

The team absolutely killed it this month in the quality of life department. Here is a rundown of the changes.

MP5 durability/condition increased

Allow modular car population to spawn in forest and forestside at the roadside  

Players no longer spawn in jungle biome  

Static Electric Heater now provides comfort

Added small rock formations to jungle biome to allow for more ore nodes  

Spamming wooden barricades in front of trains no longer grinds them to a halt  

Waterwell vendor now sells advanced harvesting and crafting teas

Industrial blue light added  

More deployables can now be demolished within 10 minutes of placement. The list includes the Watchtower, Barricades, Wind Generators, Paddling Pools, and Water Catchers.  

Attack helicopter pilots can now switch between HV and incendiary with a radial menu (hold R), and manually reload with R when needed

Added new binds to swap seats in vehicles (CTRL + 1 -> driver seat, CTRL + 2 -> seat 2, etc) - able to be edited in key binds options  

New wild hemp variant that should be more visible in the jungle

  • Bow and blow weapons now have reduced damage and increased reload times when placed in turrets  

  • Auto turrets in peacekeeper mode now wait 5 seconds before attacking a player if they draw a weapon

  • Turrets are less accurate when shooting players on moving trains  

  • When using the wire tool, you can now snap your wires orthogonally by holding LEFT SHIFT. They also cleanly stop at wall corners

  • Propane Explosive Bomb no longer requires Explosives to craft

  • Reduced amount of rad pill in jungle crates

  • Removed camera roll entirely on the boogie board and inner tube

  • Command Block added to staging - an admin item that allows you to execute commands via a trigger if you’re an admin

  • Sound polishing for boomerang and various Jungle things

  • Removed driftwood from buildable caves as it interferes with small deployables

  • Game volume slider also affects ui sounds

  • Improvements to beehive UI

  • Stop showing open fuel storage all the time when mounted on a bike. You need to look down deliberately to get the popup

  • Increased the stack size of the black raspberry from 1 to 20, to match other berries. Removes item ownership on black raspberry as a result

  • Remove vines the second a tree gets killed, rather than keeping them hanging around for a few seconds (and some more improvements)

  • F7 now opens the cheater report panel. Can now switch from report bug report

  • Neon sign side inputs cost the same power as the main input

  • You now only need 1 apple (down from 2) to cook up an apple pie

  • Coconut gloves compatible with Snow Jacket and Bunny Onesie

  • New token for pure warming tea, renamed cooling tea to basic cooling tea and adjusted min and max temp values for warming and cooling teas.

  • Holding the directional drop key will drop items to the ground even when dropped over other inventory slots/ui, to make it easier to drop items with direction without needing to drag the icon all the way off the inventory (experimental)

  • Optimizations and improvements to various IO related things to make them more consistent across the board

  • Improved triangle ladder hatch deploy volumes, won't be blocked by random nearby deployables anymore

  • Block belt input if you're swapping seats. Prevents seat switching keybinds triggering the hot bar selection. Also fixes a longstanding double viewmodel issue when switching to the driver seat and deploying an item at the same time  

  • The TC friend list authing UI and functionality has now been extended to the Tugboat, making it much easier to auth your friends or team mates to your Tugboat.


Spatially Aware Lighting

Spatially aware lighting is going live today. This new system adds a more ambient, moody vibe to certain areas by dynamically adjusting lighting based on your environment. It’s enabled by default, but you can toggle it off with the cvar graphics.spatiallyawareenvironmentvolumes if you prefer the brighter, more evenly lit look. Expect things to feel a bit darker and more atmospheric with it on.

Spoiled Fruit and Veg   

Another change, plant-based food now spoils just like meat. Items like berries, pumpkins, corn, potatoes, apples, and more will spoil after 4 real-time days, turning into "Spoiled Produce" if not used in time. Make sure to stay on top of your harvests before they rot.


Tea System Expansion 

The tea system is also expanding. New advanced and pure tea variants are now available, offering effects like health boosts, improved ore gathering, faster crafting, better harvesting, and even warming or cooling buffs. Mixing table recipes have been updated to support these new teas, and armor slot weighting has been adjusted to help balance the buffs. This adds some fresh ways to get creative with your tea use while surviving out there.


Fixes

Along with all the new stuff, a bunch of fixes and tweaks are landing with today’s update to help smooth out gameplay and squash some lingering bugs.

  • Fixed player body jittering out of sync with the camera movement when on an inner tube

  • Fixed missing wood from hobo barrel on deploy

  • Fix "Unload Ammo" button not showing after a gun is reloaded if the ammo is in the main inventory while gun is in hotbar

  • Fix water jump start/land effect prefabs not playing sounds

  • Fixed being able to place floating signs with a ladder on top of a tugboat

  • Fix chainsaws not showing their fuel count when inside a chest

  • Fixed the issue causing incorrect ordering + colouring of available mixing/cooking table items based on ingredient availability, only when in standalone builds

  • Fixes for LR300 view models

  • Major fixes for RTL (right-to-left) language support in input fields

  • Arabic and Hebrew language support fixes for chat

  • Convex mesh collider warnings resolved

  • Hot reload settings fixes

  • Missing script warnings fixed


Other Stuff

  • Added spawn.population_cap_rate, when set acts as a cap on how fast loot can spawn when being scaled by player count. Defaults to 300, so loot will spawn on servers with a higher population as if it is on a 300 pop server. Can be set to 0 to revert to the old behavior (see more info here)

  • Various optimizations such as foliage instancing, loading times, etc.

  • Cross-hair interaction modes with customizable settings

  • Improvements to the treasure hunt (6 hour time limit added, new spawn locations, reduced min distance between mission points)

  • Chicken coop crafting coat increased - now requires 1 rope and 75 metal fragments

  • Wooden Barricade stacksize reduced to 5 from 10

  • Honeycomb stack size reduced from 100 to 20

  • Burlap gloves now offer small amount of bullet protection

  • Beehives craft now require sheet metal

  • Changed Waterpump protection to metal and increased HP

  • Storage monitor improvements for Container IO and vending machines
